Fan Works

Monday, October 18th, 2010

Thanks to a beautiful fan-made wallpaper sent to us recently and inspired by Raging Spaniard’s alternate take on Dudebro’s character design, we decided to create a new section for the website called Fan Works, centered around fan submissions and other unofficial Dudebro-themed creations. Submit your own work and we’ll put on the website the entries we like most!

Overly Upbeat Song

Monday, October 11th, 2010

Now here’s an unusual song considering the tone of the game. Courtesy of SteveB, here’s something a bit more old school and a far cry from the heavy metal and electronic pieces that make up a majority of the game’s soundtrack. So where in the game will it appear? That, at least for now, will stay a secret.

Dudebro II Delayed to 2011

Friday, October 8th, 2010

We announced today that Dudebro II has been pushed back to 2011. The production may be taking more time than expected, but the team is working hard at a steady pace to make it the most bro game of all time and make sure it’s more than worth the additional wait.

We are also changing the website update schedule: starting today, we will no longer be updating on Fridays, instead choosing to focus on more worthwhile content without resorting to filler to make up for the delay. You can look forward to quality posts every Monday with even more art, media and exclusive insight about the game’s development. And, who knows, maybe a surprise could pop up soon.

Shooting/Slicing Kit

Monday, October 4th, 2010

Here is the flier we handed out at the Eurogamer Expo 2010 and, in June, at E3 2010. As you can see, there are paper cut-outs outlined on the sheet to help anyone in case shit gets fucked up. You can print out your own in case you find yourself in a situation like that.

Ladies

Ladies

Now this is a power-up you don’t want to pass over. These damsels in distress will appear on some specific maps, usually tied up. Once untied, they will follow Dudebro around.

Ladies have two functions, both of which could be absolutely integral to survival if the situation calls for it. The first is the fact their bodies can shield Dudebro from bullets as long as they’re following him around — definitely a helpful talent on the frontlines. Be careful though, because a lady will leave angrily if she’s hit too many times.

The second talent is … well, what do you think it is? If Dudebro takes a lady to a door fortunately labeled “PRIVATE”, she will pay him back by boosting his brodiocity meter — so to speak.

Dudebro I

Monday, September 27th, 2010

This stunning sequel to Dudebro Zero focuses on the mysteries surrounding the Buddy Beer company and its founders, Thomas I. Dietsyrup and Thadeus Y. Quellspeed. Once their new highly addictive coffee-flavored light beer, BuddyKafé hits the market, all the bros become narcoleptic mindless drones (or at least more so than they were before), more sensible than ever to the practices of advertising. As a result of the company’s product, which led to a surge in sales of junk food and videogames, whose resulting sudden shortage in turn led prices and — consequently — inflation to skyrocket all around the globe, in the year 2004 the world economy is on the verge of total collapse.

Our hero, John Dudebro, is tasked by General Lee to investigate the matter. With Piston Sledge hopelessly addicted to BuddyKafé, rookie soldier Habemus Chicken joins Dudebro in his stead. The new brotastic duo is about to embark on a quest to stop the evil founders of the beer brand from using an ancient scroll found in a strip club to open a wormhole and summon to our world a forgotten deity whose name was — indeed — forgotten.

Or, well, they would if this game ever existed. The lack of media and information have led many to believe the game is just a marketing ploy used to jump from Dudebro 0 straight to II, cutting out the risk of developing an original I.P. since gamers hate new franchises. Taking this into account, there is a good chance the above events never even occurred.

Dudebro Alternate Design Promo Art

Friday, September 24th, 2010

Courtesy of Raging Spaniard, here’s an alternate take on Dudebro’s character design focusing more on his badass side than his lady-pleasing one.

Brocrates

Monday, September 20th, 2010

Another member of the Dude Squad. As there always seems to be something obstructing the view in any photo he is in, his appearance is unknown. Even his former bros can’t seem to remember what he looks like.

While envious of Dudebro’s greatness, he still held a great deal of respect for the man. Brocrates was upset when his favorite bro returned to the army, and immersed himself in the study of Duderonomy to cope with it. (Duderonomy is a branch of philosophy that boasts of the perceived ideals of what it truly means to be a bro.)

However, the loss of Dudebro had more of an effect than Brocrates originally thought. He became obsessed with Duderonomy and eventually went completely insane. Living in his own perception of an idealized “bro world,” he ironically misinterpreted his studies and lost sight of what it truly means to be a bro.

Hah, only a fool could follow such a misguided view on life and then still do it incorrectly. Only once you are dead can you truly contemplate the mysteries of the universe.

— Reverend B. B. Brahnson

While his respect for Dudebro still lingers deep within his subconscious, his fragmented mind is all but unsalvageable.
